Established in 1973, the University currently has 9,843 graduates with an annual enrollment of some 2,500 students. The graduating class of June 2007 will bring the total number of graduates to over 10,000. Thus far, there has been little data collection and no coordinated statistical research on the status and role of the graduates of the University, the impact of the University in their lives, and their impact on society. Such research would be of significant value to quality assessment efforts of the on-going development of the academic curriculum of the University. Additionally, this research would be of value to the alumni and development offices of the University in their efforts to nurture and solicit financial support from alumni of the University both locally as well as internationally. To begin to gather the necessary information to conduct this research, a database must be established as well as a system of maintaining up-to-date information about graduates. This will require support of technical database as well as academic research personnel on an intensive full-time basis for a year and then the employment of student workers and academic research personnel on a part-time basis thereafter.
