On Wednesday, September
17, Bethlehem University hosted a delegation
from Finland, as follow-up to the inauguration
of the Digital Media Center. Brother Neil Kieffe,
Director of Instructional Technology, greeted
the guests, and took them to Digital Media Center
where they saw the new computers and cameras and
the new studio. They also saw a brief documentary
prepared at the Center, highlighting the contributions
of Finland towards this endeavor, along with footage
from the inauguration ceremony and information
about the possibilities that are now open to teachers
and students of Bethlehem University.
The guests from
Finland had lunch in the Institute of Hotel Management
and Tourism, with Brother Vincent Malham, President-Vice
Chancellor, Dr. Maher Qumsiah, Chairperson of
the Mathematics Department, Dr. Muna Matar, from
the On-line Education Project, and Brother Neil
Kieffe, Director of Instructional Technology.
The delegation
from Finland included Ms. Emili Osara, Program
Officer in the Foreign Minister's Office, Mr.
Heikki Kokkala, Advisor on Education in the Foreign
Ministry, Mr. Olli Ruohomaki, Advisor on Democracy,
Mr. Keijo Rukoranta, Head of the Representative
Office of Finland to the Palestinian Authority,
along with Ms. Mirja Ruokoranta, and Ms. Mona
Shamma' Project Coordinator. |
