February 17, 2004,
The Faculty of Bethlehem University came together
for a day of planning, as part of their on-going
process of quality enhancement of the academic programs
of the University.
Brother Fergus McArdle, Vice President
for Academic Affairs, stressed the importance of
linking teaching and research. Naim Iraqi, Moin Kanaan,
Sami Adwan, and Alfred Abed Rabbo, four faculty members
with extensive experience in research and teaching,
discussed their work. Mona Matar addressed e-leaning,
and Salim Zoughbi spoke about his visit to the U.N.
University in China. Irene Hazou, Assistant Vice
President for Academic Affairs, spoke about the quality
enhancement plans for each department.
When activities of the day were
complete, a faculty member wrote: "It was great
having so much uninterrupted time to deal with the
developmental issues which we had already identified
for our Department. Although this is more demanding
than a normal teaching day, we are looking forward
to subsequent Faculty Development Days."
There are four additional Faculty
Development Days planned for the semester. |
