On Friday, 16 April, Bethlehem University
hosted H.E. Cardinal Mousa Daoud, Prefect of the
Congregation of Eastern Churches, and his Secretary
Msgr. Malvestiti. They were accompanied by Msgr.
Pietro Sambi, the Apostolic Delegate and Chancellor
of Bethlehem University. The Congregation of Eastern
Churches, along with the De La Salle Christian Brothers,
are the founders of Bethlehem University.
Cardinal Daoud began his visit by
going to the University Chapel for a moment of prayer.
Brother Jean Manuel shared with the Cardinal the
history of the Chapel, highlighting the various frescos
depicting child saints from all over the world and
the history of salvation.
Brother Vincent Malham, President-Vice
Chancellor, led Cardinal Daoud on a campus tour,
and they discussed the unique mission of Bethlehem
University in the Holy Land. Other university officials
joined the tour, including Prof. Manuel Hassassian,
Executive Vice President; Brother Jack Curran, Vice
President for Development; Brother Fergus McArlde,
Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Irene Hazou,
Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs; Ms.
Elsa Hazboun, Director of Personnel; and Brother
Neil Kieffe, Director of Instructional Technology.
