June 24, 2004. Behind the scenes the Computer Center in Bethlehem University is often like a bee-hive of activities, with responsibilities to keep the computer network running, along with four computer labs with 250 computers serving 2100 students and some 300 faculty and staff, in addition to providing and maintaining special software for the Finance Office and the Registrar.
Philip Daoud of the Computer Center staff said with a smile of pride: “Luckily, our equipment and services are up-to-date, and the student computers are now all Pentium 4s.”
Just recently the Computer Center installed Claroline, the software needed for e-learning. While it is still being tested, students will soon be able to receive and submit assignments and attend discussion sessions on-line.
