Knights and Ladies of the Equestrian Order of Canada Visit Bethlehem University
On Wednesday, 27 October 2004, Bethlehem University hosted 18 Knights and Ladies of the Equestrian Order of Canada, Vancouver and Toronto Lieutenancies. Mr. Declan Lawlor , the Lieutenant of the Vancouver Province, and his wife Denise, led the pilgrim group. In attendance was Mr. William Whelan, former Lieutenant of Vancouver, and his wife Carmel.
Brother Vincent Malham, President-Vice Chancellor, spoke to the group and thanked them for all the help the Equestrian Order is offering Bethlehem University. Brother Vincent added that the University is much stronger because of that help.

The Knights and Ladies attended a discussion session with Faculty, Staff, and students. Father Jamal Khader, Chairman of the Religious Studies Department, moderated the session. He spoke about the Religious Education Department in Bethlehem University and the education it offers fostering interfaith dialogue, tolerance, and respect.
The guests spoke with Mr. Sami Al-Yousef, Vice President for Finances and Planning, and Dr. Irene Hazou, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. Both spoke about the challenges and accomplishments of Bethlehem University, and they addressed questions about the background of B.U. students. Rawan Khatir and Lara Khamis, both B.U. students, spoke of their hope for a future where they can serve their country with the education Bethlehem University offers them, mentioning how they hope not to immigrate.
Dr. Fouad Bannoura led the group on a campus tour highlighting and the Chapel and the Palestinian Heritage Center: Turathuna.
Earlier the guests had lunch in the Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism with Brother Jack Curran, Vice President for Development, Mr. Sami El-Yousef, Vice President for Finances and Planning, and Brother Cyril Litecky, Assistant to the Vice Chancellor.
