High School Pupils Doing Research in Bethlehem University
On Wednesday, 24 November, eight pupils from the 11th Grade of the Jerusalem School, Beit Jala, visited the Bethlehem University Library and were introduced to research there.
The young researchers chose the Bethlehem University Library because they felt it is a good Library and that the University is always open to the community.
The Class Teacher, Marcel Bandak, said: “when I asked Brother Dominic Smith, the Library Director, if I could bring my students to do research, he was very encouraging.” She added that the pupils learnt how to use the search computers and the various research tools available, how to retrieve information from an encyclopedia, and they made copies of the available material. The pupils felt that they learnt a lot.
The young researchers looked for information on glass and how it is composed, on vitamin c and why it is important, on petroleum, and on solar energy. They were delighted when Brother Dominic told them they are welcome to come again.
