Dr. Moin Halloun, Chairman of the Department of Arabic, authored a new book on Arabic writing. This is book number six by Dr. Halloun.
The new book is entitled “Paragraph Fillers and Swelling of Text in Modern Arabic,” and it talks about the contemporary style of Arabic writing and how this is different from the classical style. In his new book, Dr. Halloun is saying that the contemporary style is an imitation of French.
Dr. Halloun is an instructor of Arabic and Hebrew in Bethlehem University. His books are considered among the best in teaching Arabic as a second language. His latest book will be of great benefit to writers who are seeking to improve their style, and to students of Arabic both native and non-native speakers, given that the terminology he is identifying is not listed in any dictionary yet nor in books on Arabic writing. The new book, published by the Department of Middle East Studies, University of Haifa, is seen as a pioneer endeavor.
