Member of the Board of Regents Visits Bethlehem University
Mr. Andreas van Agt, former Prime Minister of the Netherlands and Member of the University’s Board of Regents, visited B.U. on 28 March – 4 April 2005. Brother Vincent Malham, President-Vice Chancellor, welcomed Mr. van Agt warmly and expressed delight for this visit. Brother Vincent took the opportunity to thank Mr. van Agt for his unwavering support to Bethlehem University.
Mr. van Agt toured the Bethlehem area and visited the Church of Nativity, Herodion Mountain, the refugee camps, and prayed the rosary by the newly-built segregation Wall.
He met members of the Bethlehem University’s Executive Council, and discussed with them the challenges and accomplishments of the University in the Holy Land. Also, Mr. van Agt met faculty members and discussed the overall political situation and how to advance the peace process.
