Mass of Mandate Held in Bethlehem University for Graduates of the Religious Studies Program
On Friday, 6 May, a Mass of Mandate was held in the Chapel of Bethlehem University for 14 graduates who completed their studies in Christian Education. Bishop Boutros Malki, Syrian Catholic Bishop of Jerusalem, celebrated Mass.
For the last two years, 11 teachers had studied Christian Education in the Frerés School, Jerusalem. Bethlehem University was administering the program in cooperation with the Office of Christian Education of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. The trainees, teachers of Christian Education in private schools in Jerusalem, were part of an upgrading program in Christian education. A second group of trainees, consisting of three students from Beit Sahour, received their B.A. degrees from the Department of Religious Studies in the University.
Priests from the Bethlehem area, Brothers, faculty, and friends of Bethlehem University attended the Mass of Mandate, in addition to the family and friends of the 14 graduates.
