Awards of Excellence Ceremony at Bethlehem University

On Tuesday, 10 May, the Bethlehem University community assembled to honor the outstanding students. On this special occasion, Brother Vincent Malham, President-Vice Chancellor, was honored as he is completing his term of eighth years in Bethlehem University.
The ceremony started with a moment of silence, followed by the national anthem.
Brother Vincent welcomed the faculty and staff. He congratulated the outstanding students on their achievement, and called upon them to be loyal citizens of their country and good ambassadors for Bethlehem University. Also, he called upon the students to learn foreign languages, as that will open for them opportunities they cannot imagine.
Brother Vincent thanked the Bethlehem University community for the eight delightful years he spent as President-Vice Chancellor, and he said that “it has been a privilege, gift, and grace to work here.”
Hasan Faraj, President of the Student Senate, presented Brother Vincent a trophy of acknowledgment and appreciation, Reem Geden gave him a piece of Palestinian embroidery, and Dalia Kharoufeh gave him a bouquet of flowers. Brother Vincent then called Sister Raymond Qobein on stage and presented her the flowers because she had brought fresh flowers to his office every morning.
Ms. Vera Baboun, Assistant Dean of Students, invited the Deans of the various faculties to call the names of their outstanding students. The students came on stage and received their Awards of Excellence Certificates from Brother Vincent, and Brother Fergus McArdle, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Students of the Faculty of Arts were called by Dr. Walid Mustafa, Dean.
Students of the Faculty of Science were called by Brother David Scarpa, Dean.
Students of the Faculty of Business were called by Fadi Kattan, Dean.
Students of the Faculty of Nursing were called by Maha Fatho, Dean.
Students of the Faculty of Business were called by Nancy Elias, Dean.
Students of the Institute of Hotel Management and Tourism were called by Nabil Al-Mufdi, Director.
The celebration concluded with Palestinian cultural dance and music by Bidayat Art Group from Bethlehem.
