Dear Faculty, Staff, Students, Alumni and Friends of Bethlehem University,
I write to inform you of the sad news of the death of Mrs. Rita Benson, the dear wife of Mr. Robert Benson, who died on Monday, 12 September 2005, in England after a long illness.
Mr. Robert Benson has been a devoted and energetic friend of the Holy Land and of Bethlehem University for many years, a member of the International Board of Regents of Bethlehem University; Chair of the Regents Development Committee; member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepluchre; and Founder and Chair of the Friends of Bethlehem University in England and Wales.
The Requiem Mass for Mrs. Rita Benson is on Friday, 23 September 2005, at 12 noon at the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Hythe, Kent, United Kingdom. Brother Jack Curran, FSC, Vice President for Development, and I will represent the Bethlehem University community at the Requiem Mass.

A Mass will be offered for the repose of Rita’s soul at Bethlehem University in the Chapel of the Divine Child on Tuesday, 27 September 2005 at 12 noon. Let us all pray for Rita and also for Robert as his mourns the loss of his dear wife.
