The Palestinian Heritage Day

On Thursday, 23 February 2006 during weekly student activity hours, the Fatah Youth Movement in coordination with the Student Council organized a cultural heritage event entitled “Palestine in the Heart.”  The event was also in coordination with Artas, the Heritage Center in Bethlehem.  Hundreds of students attended the event which included Palestinian Folk dancing, singing and popular Palestinian food.  Both men and women were in their traditional national costume.  Portraying Palestinian heritage, some historical pieces of furniture and daily living accessories were also displayed on the campus plaza.  In the food corner, students distributed sandwiches of Labaneh (yogurt) and Za’tar (thyme) spread on very thin bread called Shraq.  The general atmosphere was relaxed and festive as the students participated in folk dancing, some of whom were professionally experienced and some of whom were learning and honing their skills.  The two hour event concluded with hopes to organize more such events in the future.

يوم التراث الفلسطيني

قامت حركة الشبيبة الطلابية بالتعاون مع مجلس اتحاد الطلبة ومركز أرطاس للتراث بنشاط تراثي تحت عنوان "فلسطين في القلب"، وذلك يوم الخميس الموافق 23/2/2006 في ساعات النشاط من ذلك اليوم،وشارك فيه عدد كبير من الطلبة.

وتخلّل النشاط أغان ورقصات شعبية، وعُرِضَت بعض الأطعمة الفلسطينية وبعض القطع الأثرية كأثاث المنازل ومتطلبات الحياة اليومية.وأشرف على النشاط طلبة يرتدون الزيّ الفلسطيني التقليدي. وأما في زاوية الطعام فقد قدّم الطلاب بعض السندويشات التي احتوت على اللبنة والزعتر مع خبز الشراك.

قام بعض الطلبة بالمشاركة ببعض الرقصات الفلكلورية كل حسب خبرته بالرقص، فمنهم مَن كان يرقص بخفة وخبرة واضحة ومنهم مَن كان يحاول أن يرقص.

ومن حسن الطالع، فقد كان الجو ممتعاً وجميلاً، آملين القيام بنشاطات أخرى مماثلة في المستقبل.
