From 6 to 23 March 2006, the Student Senate at Bethlehem University held three different book exhibitions, DVDs, CDs and some office and computer related accessories were available for sale. The exhibition was carried out in coordination with local book vendors and companies. The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Brother Daniel Casey and a number of staff and faculty. The exhibition raised awareness among students and the local community about a variety of books available in the market.
Students from all faculties visited the exhibitions, they were interested in all different types of books offered according to their field of study. The book fair provided an educational platform for faculty, staff and students giving them access to a variety of subjects.
One of the special events that took place during the book fair was a forum entitled “ The threats concerning Jerusalem” . Two guest speakers from Jerusalem participated in this forum: Dr. Geries Khoury, Director of the Al-Liqa Center for Religious and Heritage Studies in the Holy Land, and Muhamed Abu Teir, recently elected Palestinian Legislative Council for Jerusalem.
