Awards of excellence

On Thursday, 30 March 2006 , the BethlehemUniversity community assembled to acknowledge the students who received honors. The ceremony started with a moment of silence, followed by the National Anthem.

Brother Fergus McArdle, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed the faculty and staff. He congratulated the students on their achievement, and called upon them to be loyal citizens of their country and good ambassadors of Bethlehem University. Then Brother Fergus and Dr. Zein Al-Awawdeh, Dean of Students, distributed the Honors Shields to the first two students of the highest GPA for the year 2005.

Later Ms. Vera Baboun, Assistant Dean of Students, invited the Deans of the various faculties to call the names of their students. The students came on stage and received their Certificates of Awards of Excellence from Brother Fergus McArdle, and Dr. Zein Al-Awawdeh.

In the words of Ms. Vera Baboun “ As you reap today the harvest of your distinctive achievement, remember that you have successfully raised the flag of excellence and distinction. Congratulations to you all.”

At the end, the band of Bethlehem University entertained the audience with a variety of songs.
