2 May 2006, Bethlehem, West Bank, Palestine: On Sunday 23 April 2006, Christian Brothers University (CBU) in Memphis, TN, (USA) inaugurated Bethlehem University’s former President/Vice-Chancellor, Brother Vincent Malham, FSC, as their 21 st President.
On 30 June 2005 , Brother Vincent completed nine years of leadership at Bethlehem University and after a brief sabbatical he was appointed President at CBU in December 2005. During his tenure at Bethlehem University , Brother Vincent launched a Strategic Planning Process and established new degree programs in Religious Studies and Computer Science. He also witnessed the historic Pilgrimage of His Holiness Pope John Paul II to Bethlehem which bestowed on him the utmost pride when he heard the words of the Holy Father addressing the people at Dheisheh Camp: “The Catholic Church is particularly happy to serve the noble cause of education through the extremely valuable work on Bethlehem University .” Brother Vincent regarded his last year at Bethlehem University as especially enriching in hosting the Conference of Bishops from Europe and the United States, the visit of the many Equestrian Order pilgrims, and the Academic Convocation during which Carlo Cardinal Martini received a Doctorate, honoris causa, from Bethlehem University.
Brother Vincent worked tirelessly in promoting the development of Bethlehem University and as an accomplished musician, Brother Vincent led a Concert Tour in 1999 to promote Bethlehem University . A native of Brinkley , Arkansas , Brother Vincent has been a Christian Brother since 1955. He became Vice Chancellor at Bethlehem University in 1997 and was named President in 1998. Prior to his duties at Bethlehem University in the Middle East , he held several teaching and administrative positions including a six-year tenure as Dean of Arts at CBU (1981-87) and five years as Provincial Superior of the St. Louis Province of Christian Brothers (1990-1995).

CBU is one of more than 65 Lasallian institutions of tertiary education found in Latin America , Europe , Asia , Africa , the United States of America and at Bethlehem University in the Occupied Palestinian Territories .
