Eucharistic Celebration of the Feast of Saint John Baptist De La Salle

On Monday 15 May 2006 Bethlehem University celebrated the Feast of John Baptist De La Salle, founder of the Brothers of the Christian Schools and Patron of all Teachers. The Celebrations started with a Mass in the Chapel of the Child Jesus celebrated by His Excellency Archbishop Antonio Franco, Apostolic Delegate to Jerusalem and Palestine and Chancellor of Bethlehem University, and assisted by His Excellency Archbishop Fouad Twal, Coadjutor Archbishop of Jerusalem and President of Bethlehem University and also by Father Pietro Felet, Father Peter DuBrul, Father Jamal Khader and Father Yacoub Abu Sada. The mass was attended by the Brothers, faculty, staff and friends of Bethlehem University.

Traditionally Bethlehem University commemorates Founder's Day with a ceremony honoring faculty and staff members for their years of service at Bethlehem University. In total, 39 faculty and staff members were honored.

Br. Jean Manuel was a special honoree as he celebrated his golden Jubilee of consecrated life as a Brother of the Christian Schools.
