Bethlehem University Opens its’ Doors to New Students
Bethlehem University, 1 August 2006
Approximately 1700 high school graduates from all over Palestine including Jerusalem applied to assume their higher education at Bethlehem University. The customary three days entrance exam was extended to four days due to the increasing number of applicants for the year 2006-2007.
Bethlehem University is the only university in Palestine requiring an entrance exam which reveals the level of proficiency of the students in Arabic, English and Math. Admission therefore is dependent on both their performance in the entrance exam and their Tawjihi (the government high school exam) grades.
Staff and faculty from the Registrar’s office, the computer center and the office of the Vice president for academic affairs were involved in the preparation and the execution of the exams which started on the 26 th of July 2006.
During these four days, the university received crowds of students who showed great enthusiasm and interest. Some were more satisfied than others regarding their performance and hoped nothing will deter them from becoming part of the Bethlehem University Community.
