INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF CATHOLIC UNIVERSITIES
PRESS RELEASE
At the opening of the 22 nd General Assembly of the International Federation of Catholic Universities on the theme “International Justice” We as the Federation Community would wish to state our solidarity with the millions suffering, victimized by wars/conflicts the world over, especially those now undergoing injustices in Lebanon, Palestine and Israel.
We have noticed with regret the absence of our colleagues and friends of the Catholic universities of that region and as a Federation community we would like to express our thoughts and sentiments of solidarity to them.
Firmly grounded in our commitment ‘to build a world, more just and more humane’ at service of mankind and the Church, we strongly reject violence, terrorism, fear, hatred and resentments and their consequences on populations.
Faithful to the Gospels of Christ and to the love of neighbor, we wish to bring our hope to the International Community that there will be adaptable solutions to the present situations. Solutions that will put an end to the escalation of violence and death.
We look to a future where our brothers and sisters of Lebanon and Palestine will enjoy again a just and lasting freedom and peace! We pray with them.
