Bethlehem University Students participated in the
Second International Symposium of Young Lasallians

Dalia Kharofeh (BU’06) and Shireen Awad (BU’06), representing Bethlehem University, both participated in the Second International Symposium of Young Lasallians held in Rome from July 25 to 31, 2006. Meetings of young Lasallians have been held on the continental, regional, and district levels to raise awareness of the need to consolidate the Young Lasallians Movement on the international level.

Under the motto "Mission Possible: A Shared Dream" Dalia and Shireen together with other participants from all over the world discussed how different schools and organizations promote their Lasallian identity and faith within their communities. Speaking of her experience after attending the Symposium, Dalia Kharoufeh said “ It was a valuable experience that transformed my heart through communicating with other participants sharing a common mission”. In her own words, Shireen Awad reflection was “ I never expected that Bethlehem University is part of this huge community, I am proud to be a Bethlehem University graduate.”

The purpose of this second Symposium is to share the Christian Brothers commitment to the Lasallian Educational Mission. La Salle’s dream continues in the story that young Lasallians are writing and will continue to write in which this Symposium has been a fundamental stage.
