Orientation Beings at Bethlehem University

New students participate in three days of introduction to college life at Bethlehem University , which is held each year the week before classes begin. A special parent program is held the first day of Orientation. Portions of the day coincide with student activities in addition to informational and welcoming activities for parents. Brother Peter Iorlano, Coordinator of Institutional Values, organized the event and trained BU students to make the orientation achieves its goals.

Dr. Nael Abdel Rahman, (BU ‘91) Dean of Students , welcomed the students and their parents and he stressed the importance of education in developing societies. Dr. Nael gave credit to De La Salle Christian Brothers for founding and maintaining Bethlehem University one of the distinguished higher education institutions in Palestine .

Brother Daniel Casey, Vice Chancellor, speaking to new students and their families said “ Bethlehem University is a Christian University and since its inception both Christian and Muslim students studied and lived in harmony. A spirit of family exists at Bethlehem University , students are happy to be here.” Brother Daniel highlighted how each student receives personal attention from all faculty and staff, and he welcomed the new students to the Bethlehem University community.

Later students were shown a presentation about Bethlehem University “ Reaching for the Future”, then activities began including meeting the Administration, campus tour, La Sallian heritage and presentation by faculty members, academic policies, financial policies, code of manner, workshops on independence and cultural activities including dance and music.
