Institute for Community Partnership Launching New Programs

On Wednesday 18 October 2006, The Institute for Community Partnership (ICP), which is an integral unit of Bethlehem University, launched three online Professional Diplomas Programs and Professional Diploma Program in public administration. The ICP also launched the Fair Trade Development Center and a new website designed by Mr. Philip Daoud.

In addition to the faculty, staff and students, the ceremony was attended by distinguished persons including Dr. Victor Batarseh, Mayor of Bethlehem, Mr. Hani El-Hayek, Mayor of Beit Sahour. It was also a graduation ceremony of 20 faculty members who attended a one- year tailor made program in training, consulting and e-learning and 24 staff members who successfully completed the courses for the International Computer Drivers License,(ICDL).

Ms. Iman Hadweh, ICP project coordinator, welcomed the guests and gave a brief background about the new projects being implemented by the Institute. Later Br. Daniel Casey, Vice Chancellor, greeted all attendants and he stressed the important role of Bethlehem University in serving the Palestinian people. In his own words Br. Daniel said “ We are here because of the young men and women who chose to be at Bethlehem University. Quality education is a hallmark of Bethlehem University, we must be whom we claim to be.”

Finally Mr. Mousa Rabadi, Director of ICP gave a presentation about the current plans of the Institute and the aspirations for the future in order to be prepared to better serve the Palestinian people. He also thanked all the supporters of ICP including the Konrad Adenauer Foundation who had a representative at the ceremony.
