In appreciation to Friends of Bethlehem University in Abu Dhabi

As Eid Al Fitr was approaching, the Friends of Bethlehem University in Abu Dhabi contacted Mr. Sami El Yousef, Vice President for Finances and Planning asking him how could they help in bringing joy to the students of Bethlehem University as the economic uncertainties, many students live under, were becoming bleak. Mr. Sami El Yousef suggested that they assist the Bethlehem University students families who worked in the public sector and have not received their salaries for more than eight months. With no hesitation, the Friends of Bethlehem University in Abu Dhabi responded generously by offering 171 families a small gift of JD 100. This gift did not only impact its recipients, in fact it reminded us all of the true values of generosity, kindness and compassion Eid Al Fitr brings and it gave us the hope to continue to strive for our future.

After receiving his grant from the Finance Office, Khalil Fawadleh, a junior majoring in English from Aboud, a small village 30 kilometers northwest of Ramallah City said “I deeply thank Friends of Bethlehem University in Abu Dhabi for their financial assistance, their help came in a time when it was most needed because my parents did not have any income for the last 8 months.”

Ali Qurneh, a junior majoring in mathematics from Bethlehem and his family was one of the recipients of the financial support said “My parents work in the public sector and have not received their salaries for a long time, I am grateful to our Friends in Abu Dhabi for bringing joy and hope to my family this Eid, this for sure will give me hope to continue my studies in spite of the difficulties.”

The University greatly appreciates the support of the Friends of Bethlehem University in Abu Dhabi, their efforts are exemplary and serve as an important reminder of how fortunate we are to have them as friends. Their contribution significantly enhanced the prospects of better future for Bethlehem University students. Thank you for your dedication and commitment.
