Mandate Mass for Religious Studies Graduates
Under the patronage of His Excellency, Archbishop Fuad Twal, President of the University, the Department of Religious Studies graduated its fifth class, in a Mandate Mass. Father Jamal Khader, Chairperson of the department, Farther Peter DuBrul, Bible teacher and former Chairperson, attended the Mass with the participation of the graduates families and friends.
The Mandate Mass, a tradition established by the Department of Religious Studies, aims at highlighting the special role of the graduates of Religious Studies through their work with the Church. As a result of their studies and afterwards their work, the graduates play a special role in spreading the Christianity mission for the coming generations and in encouraging rapprochement among Churches and inter-religious dialogue.
In his address, Archbishop Twal concentrated on the role of the graduates and the Church’s appreciation for that role. The University’s Choir participated in the Mass, which was followed by a reception.
