Br. Robert Smith Joins Bethlehem University’s Community

Brother Robert Smith, FSC, Ph.D. was appointed to assume the position of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, replacing Brother Fergus McArdle, FSC, who resigned from position due to illness.

Brother Robert, a tenured Professor of Theology at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, has taught in the Theology Department at this University for twenty-five years; he also served three terms as Chair of the Theology Department.  From 2000-2003 Brother Robert was the Dean of Christ the Teacher Institute of Education in Nairobi, Kenya, an institute of St. Mary’s University as well as part of the Catholic University of East Africa.  Since 2003 Brother Robert has served as Vice President for Mission at St. Mary’s University and Director of the Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching.

Bethlehem University is indeed fortunate to have as its next Vice President for Academic Affairs an educator with twenty-five years experience at the university level both in the United States and internationally.
