Investment conference organizers pronounce BU
one of Palestine 's ‘best'
Bethlehem University is on top of its game. In fact, its one of the best known institutions in Palestine . At least according to the organizers of the Palestine Investment Conference, who recently asked Bethlehem University to take part in “The Best of Palestine” exhibition, which coincided with the huge local and international event. Bethlehem University was among many participants who were invited to showcase their products and services at the conference, which ran from May 21-26. The event's aim was to encourage businessmen and women to invest in the Palestinian economy.
Bethlehem University shared its stories of success, as well as its experiences of struggle with a range of visitors to the exhibition.
“It was an important event through which we were able to tell businessmen and investors from abroad that despite the difficulties we are still able to provide high quality education to our students,” said Dina Awwad, the Public Relations and Development Officer at Bethlehem University . She used the success of Bethlehem University as an example to emphasize that investing in Palestine , although often challenging , has great potential for success.
“The visitors were impressed by the achievements of our alumni and showed interest in establishing connections with them,” Mousa Hammad, Alumni Officer at Bethlehem University , added.
The Palestine Investment Conference was inspired by the international donor community's December 2007 commitment to a comprehensive three-year development and rehabilitation plan for Palestine . It aimed to highlight investment opportunities in Palestine and specifically sought the active support of entrepreneurs from the Arab world, the region, and the international community.
“The Best of Palestine” exhibition was held in Bethlehem in the same period to showcase important Palestinian products and significant success stories in various economic sectors to potential international investors. Intellectual, cultural and heritage innovations were also featured. The exhibition was sponsored by the Islamic Development Bank-Al Aqsa Fund and organized by the Palestine Investment Conference with the support of PALTRADE.
