Bethlehem University Kicks off its 35 th Anniversary Celebrations
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. This week as Bethlehem University 's 35 th anniversary got underway, a collection of pictures was worth thousands of words over 35 years.
The 35 th party officially got underway as Bethlehem University began a week-long celebration with a photography exhibit showcasing hundreds of memorable moments from times past.
It's a marvelous occasion of Bethlehem University to stop, to remember and to give thanks to God for being able to provide quality higher education to the people of Palestine for 35 years, said Brother Robert Smith, Interim Vice Chancellor and Vice President for Academic Affairs.
The photo exhibit, which includes many of the university's most significant and unforgettable moments, was launched Monday, October 13 th at 10am in Sansour Hall. The exhibition included various pictures of the many diverse and exciting Bethlehem University activities and events happening on campus over the 35 years, including a visit from the Reverend Jesse Jackson and snapshots from Bethlehem University 's first years in the 1970s.
It's a victorious history that Bethlehem University celebrates its 35 years of service. This exhibition includes some pictures representing the different stages which the university has gone through, said Brother Cyril Litecky, head of the 35 th Anniversary Committee.
Many members of the university faculty, staff and students walked in the memorial lane as the exhibit opened, searching eagerly for pictures of themselves in the assorted displays. Many of them, like Dr. Jeanne Kattan, were in photos from years past. I remembered all the history of Bethlehem University and my days here as a lecturer, said Dr. Kattan, grinning at the memories.

The exhibit will remain on display all week in Sansour Hall and organizers expect many students and other members of the Bethlehem community will pass through to enjoy a small stroll down memory lane.
I am very proud of being a student at Bethlehem University , said Jane Lolas, a second-year accounting major, smiling at the more amusing images in the photo display. I have never thought that it has been always lively and active in its service for the Palestinian community.

One of the interesting things which I have noticed is Bethlehem University 's efforts to enhance women's role in the society. The Women Soccer team is one example, she added.
The 35 th anniversary celebrations will continue throughout the week.
