BU ICP concludes tailor-made training program

The Institute for Community Partnership (ICP) at Bethlehem University concluded its Training of Trainers and Consultants (TOT) program with a day-long Evaluation and Dissemination Seminar on Saturday, 21 November 2009. The program was one in a series of six tailor-made training programs developed cooperatively by the ICP and the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.

Funded by the Netherlands Organization for International Cooperation in Higher Education, this TOT program was designed to improve the teaching, training and consulting functions of the University and of the ICP. The ICP and MSM drew on previous training experience to design the program, adding more direct local coaching to interactive training modules for the seventeen program participants.

Classroom sessions, role-plays and consulting simulations, visits to local universities and organizations and a study tour in the Netherlands were all part of the training package. During the final Dissemination Seminar, participants offered feedback on implementation of the program content and action plans to share their training with peers.

Other tailor-made training programs are being conducted in capacity building for BU support staff, e-learning, public relations and fundraising, media education and production and research theory and skills.
