Workshop in Bethlehem University on the Grading System for Physical Education Classes

Bethlehem – from George Zreineh. The Directorate of Education, in coordination with the Education Faculty and the Physical Education Department in Bethlehem University, held a workshop on the grading system for the 5th- 10th grades. In attendance were Abdallah Shakarneh, Bethlehem Director of Education; Nancy Elias, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Education; and physical education teachers from the Bethlehem area. The workshop took place in Sansour Hall.

Hilmi Al-Sa’id welcomed the Director of Education, the University representatives, and all the participants. Abdallah Shakarneh praised the tremendous cooperation between the Directorate of Education and the Faculty of Education in Bethlehem University. He said that he always hoped for continuous cooperation so as to improve the educational process. Shakarneh emphasized the importance of physical education and the sports tournaments. Also, he spoke about the rules and regulations, and he promised to implement the results of the workshop on experimental basis in the Directorate. Shakarneh thanked Bethlehem University’s Faculty of Education and the Physical Education Department for hosting this workshop.

Dr. Sami Adwan spoke about the grading system as a concept, and how parents perceive the physical education class. He spoke about the importance of a grading system based on diagnosis and measurable criteria. Omar Mousa spoke about the significance of the series of workshops on physical education and the importance of implementing the curriculum and planning accurately for physical education classes. Papers were presented on the grading system for physical education by Isam Subaih, Sana’ Abu Sa’da, Ra’ed Al-Hreimi, and Imad Jaber.
