Teresian Association 50th Anniversary
The Teresian Association, a lay Catholic association
involved in educational and cultural endeavors, was founded by Blessed
Pedro Poveda in Spain in 1911. The Teresians have a history of partnership
with Bethlehem University since 1973. Presently, two Teresians are
on the staff. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Teresians
in the Holy Land. To commemorate the occasion, a Thanksgiving Mass
was held in the Bethlehem University Chapel on October 19th. An
overflow congregation from the Bethlehem area and abroad were on
hand to celebrate the event with Teresians who came from the Holy
Land, Italy and Spain. After the liturgy, a PowerPoint presentation
on the history and works of the Teresians was shown in Furno Hall.
