The 3rd year midwifery students from the Tarek Ahmad Juffali Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences at Bethlehem University organized a remarkable health day event titled ” Whatever our needs, we are distinguished.” This event took place on Wednesday, 31 May 2023, at the Dr. Ahmed Al-Muslimani Hospital in Beit Sahour, in cooperation with the Oasis Center for People with Special Needs of the Health Work Committees.

The purpose of this event was to address the unique needs of individuals with special needs, aligning with the faculty’s commitment to fulfilling those needs through similar health initiatives after a thorough assessment of the center’s requirements.

Highlighting the educational role of midwives within the community, beyond the confines of delivery rooms, the day featured captivating performances by the center’s students, including lively dabkeh dances and singing. Moreover, a short play prepared and presented by the midwifery students aimed to shed light on the special needs of this group of society, encouraging their integration into the local community. The play also aimed to showcase their remarkable abilities and define their values and roles within their communities.

During the event, Ms. Maryam Awad, the Dean of the Faculty, warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of such activities in fostering community partnership and achieving educational objectives. Ms. Fatima Al-Madany, the coordinator of the Community Health course, efficiently coordinated the day.
