The Interactive Media Program at the Department of Arabic Language and the Institute for Community Engagement & Partnership (ICP) at Bethlehem University successfully concluded the second edition of its Media Literacy Project on Thursday, 27 February 2025. The event brought together academics, representatives of partner organizations, and participating students to celebrate the achievements of the past semester.
During the event, students presented their projects developed in collaboration with various community organizations in Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Hebron. They highlighted the activities they conducted, the challenges they encountered, and the impact of their initiatives on the target groups. A documentary video was also showcased, featuring testimonials from representatives of partner institutions and beneficiaries who praised the students’ efforts and the value of these projects in serving the community.
In her speech, Ms. Hanadi Younan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, emphasized the importance of service-learning in developing students’ skills and strengthening their connection to their communities. She noted that interactive media serves as a powerful tool for creatively and effectively addressing social issues.
Mr. Mousa Rabadi, Director of the ICP, commended the fruitful collaboration between the university and community organizations. He also expressed gratitude to the Finnish Lifelong Learning Foundation (the KVS Foundation) for supporting this project, which is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Rabadi stressed that this initiative reflects Bethlehem University’s commitment to social responsibility and the use of media as a tool for community engagement.
At the end of the event, students and partner institutions were honored in recognition of their contributions to the success of these initiatives.
