On Friday, 28 February 2025, Bethlehem University’s Alumni Unit/Marketing and Communications Department, in collaboration with the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability, organized a special environmental and educational day for the university’s alumni and their families. The event aimed to raise environmental awareness and strengthen their connection with the university.
Ms. Haneen Musleh, the Alumni Officer, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of strengthening the relationship between the university and its alumni, emphasizing the value of building lasting bridges with them.
The day began with an informative tour of the institute’s facilities, where alumni had the chance to visit the Biodiversity Exhibition and the Earth and Man Exhibition. These exhibits offered a glimpse into Palestine’s rich natural and cultural heritage.
Following the tour, the alumni embarked on a hands-on field activity within the institute’s botanical garden. They had the chance to learn about various species of plants and wildlife, documenting them using special exploration tools. Ms. Sarah Khair and Ms. Zeina Masleh, the institute’s educational officers and academic assistants, provided interactive explanations on the importance of biodiversity and the need for its preservation.
The day concluded with a traditional Palestinian breakfast, enjoyed in a beautiful natural setting, which further enhanced the sense of community and positive interaction among the alumni.
This activity was made possible by funds from the Alumni Relations Unit as well as the generous donations of Miss Elena Probst.
This event reflects Bethlehem University’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with its alumni, as well as the role of the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability in promoting environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices within the Palestinian community.
