Zbierski Library Hosts Student-Led Session on Public Speaking

On Thursday, 8 May 2025, the Zbierski Library at Bethlehem University hosted a student-led session on public speaking, part of its ongoing commitment to fostering student growth beyond the classroom.

Ms. Vera Koussa, Head of the English Technical Services at the Library, warmly welcomed everyone and introduced Ms. Layal Obeid, a presenter on Palestine TV and part time instructor in the Interactive Media and Communication Program- along with students Maram Khatib and Duha Alrefaee. Ms. Koussa, also extended heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Jeries Bassier, faculty member at the Arabic Department, for his support and encouragement of his students.

Ms. Obeid shared key tips for aspiring TV presenters, emphasizing the importance of clear speech, natural body language, and direct eye contact to engage viewers. She also emphasized preparation, adaptability during unscripted moments, and active listening to build rapport and maintain credibility – especially during live broadcasts.

Following her insights, Duha Alrefaee and Maram Khatib led a presentation on public speaking, sharing practical advice and personal experiences.

Special appreciation to Sana Salsa and Vera Koussa for creating a warm and engaging environment.
