Student Ambassadors Participate in Workshop on Effective Representation

On 8 May 2025, Bethlehem University organized a workshop for its student ambassadors, aimed at strengthening their ability to represent the university to visitors, particularly pilgrims and donors. The session was led by Mr. George Rishmawi, Communications Officer at the Marketing and Communications Department, who brought valuable insight into the political and cultural context in which the ambassadors operate.

The workshop began with participant introductions to build a sense of familiarity and collaboration among the students. From there, the focus shifted to practical communication skills, how to confidently and respectfully engage with pilgrims, explain the university’s mission, and respond to common questions in a clear and thoughtful manner.

A significant portion of the workshop was dedicated to understanding the broader political and social landscape of Palestine, equipping students with language and style that are both honest and appropriate when speaking with international guests. The session emphasized the importance of using accurate and meaningful terminology, while remaining sensitive to the audience’s background and perspectives.

Reflecting on the experience, student ambassador Mahmoud Al-Assa shared, “The workshop was truly enlightening. I learned many new terms and gained a better understanding of how to speak about our reality in a way that’s both respectful and informative.”

Throughout the session, Mr. Rishmawi encouraged students to reflect on their role as not only university ambassadors but also informal cultural and political communicators. The workshop supported Bethlehem University’s goal of preparing ambassadors who can represent the institution and its community with clarity, confidence, and integrity.
