Bethlehem University Launches Training in Monitoring and Evaluation as Part of AFAQ Project

On Wednesday, 21 May 2025, the Institute for Community Engagement and Partnership (ICP) at Bethlehem University launched a specialized training course titled “Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning for Development Projects”.

This program is designed to strengthen the capabilities of 16 participants from the parishes of Bethlehem, Beit Jala, and Beit Sahour, equipping them with essential skills for today’s development sector. The course supports participants in improving their employability or advancing their current roles by aligning their competencies with evolving labor market needs.

This training initiative is part of the broader AFAQ Project, which focuses on enhancing economic empowerment and improving livelihoods among low-income parishioners in the West Bank. The project includes a comprehensive set of interventions such as a paid internship program, job creation program, grants for existing small businesses, grants to launch start-ups, capacity-building programs aligned with labor market needs, and vocational training scholarships.

The AFAQ Project is implemented by ICP in collaboration with the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. It reflects Bethlehem University’s mission to serve the community through practical, life-changing education.
