Bethlehem University proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of its alumnus, His Excellency Fuad Kokaly, a distinguished graduate of the Class of 1993. Ambassador Kokaly, who earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from our esteemed institution, has recently commenced his significant role as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Czech Republic.
In a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Prague, Ambassador Kokaly, accompanied by his wife, presented his credentials to Czech President Petr Pavel. This pivotal moment marks the official commencement of his duties and underscores the State of Palestine’s unwavering commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations with the Czech Republic across political, diplomatic, and cultural spheres.
Ambassador Kokaly’s journey is a testament to the transformative education and values instilled at Bethlehem University. Prior to his ambassadorship in the Czech Republic, Ambassador Kokaly served as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Romania from 2014 to 2021. His dedication to public service extends further back, encompassing his tenure as the Mayor of Beit Sahour, his active membership in the Palestinian Legislative Council, and his leadership role as the head of the Fatah party in Bethlehem. His early involvement in political activism, including his participation in the Beit Sahour tax resistance, demonstrates a lifelong commitment to the Palestinian cause.
