Name: Dalal Amad

Free Mover Student for the Academic year 2015  to Germany

I am Dalal Amad, studying Social Work / Minor Psychology in Bethlehem University. After high school my choice of study was not very clear to me, so I went to Germany to study German and to engage in several internships. After spending several months with organizations, who work in the youth sector and dealing with issues concerning women, I made up my mind to return to Palestine and start studying Social Work. I think, spending time abroad directly after high school helped me to get in touch with different cultures and gave me the opportunity to work with minorities within the German community. This actually encouraged me to pursue the study of Social Work.

As I finish my third semester now in Bethlehem University I have the opportunity to do an exchange year in Alice Salomon University in Berlin, Germany. Alice Salomon University is a prestigious university, with innovative bachelors and masters programmes in the fields of social work. I believe spending two semesters abroad could help me achieve more of an international perspective of Social Work and could equip me with new tools and ideas, which I could bring back with me to Bethlehem University and Palestine.

I am very happy that Bethlehem University encourages my exchange year and were actively supporting me, especially in choosing the right courses and practical internships.
