Program Overview
The overall objectives of the program include:
- Improving accountability.
- Enhancing transparency in the delivery of public services.
- Improving the management of public funds.
- Strengthening the capacity of the PA institutions by growing the number of specialists in public administration.
- Enhancing the role of ethics in leading decisions in the public sector.
The graduate of this program is expected to have the following qualities:
Be able to better communicate orally and in writing.
Be able to use new skills to develop and implement public policies.
Be able to recognize and accept the complexity of the challenges faced on the job.
Be able to treat fellow public servants and citizens with renewed dignity and respect.
Be able to design work procedures that reflect good practices.
Be able to implement those policies and procedures.
Be able to act in the moral ideals of principles like public interest.
Be aware of the ideal way of governance.
Be able to create new and more transparent policies that create a good rapport between the people in the public service and also with the general public.
Be able to explain the complex relationships.
Be able to conduct scientific research that leads to findings and recommendations.
- A B.A. Degree in any discipline supported by academic transcripts with a GPA above 2.5 on a scale of 4.00 (equivalent to 75 on a scale of 100).
- Relevant experience could be used to supplement applications with GPAs below 2.5. In no case will a GPA of below 2.0 be accepted.
- Fluency in spoken and written English (A language exam will be given to all candidates except for those whose first language is English and those who can prove English language proficiency).
- Standard computer literacy.
- Fluency in any language other than Arabic is an asset.
- Working or volunteering experiences in activities for socio-economic development are appreciated, but not strictly required. This can also be used to satisfy requirement 2 above.
- Filling out the admission form.
- A certified copy from the university and the Ministry of Higher Education of the transcript of grades and the Bachelor’s degree certificate.
- A certified copy of the Tawjihi (high school diploma) transcript.
- Copy of the ID or Passport.
- A current CV.
- Personal Photo.
- 2 Reference Letters: 1 from a faculty member and 1 from the employer.
- A short essay describing the applicant’s motivations and expectations towards the program (max. 200 words).
- An official copy of other Degrees or Diplomas (if any);
- Certificates of Foreign Language proficiency (if any);
- Certificates attesting professional experience (if any).
