Program Overview
The study of Social Work is a multidisciplinary avocation that attempts to unite various needs and considerations. The program should provide knowledge. and develop skills and attitudes necessary to perform the tasks that social workers fulfill in the course of their careers. These tasks are extremely varied. They can apply to people with entirely different backgrounds and life situations. The social worker may be employed in various places and work with individuals, families, groups and larger communities, as well as administrators.
The Department must be able to teach its students how to continue the process of learning, so that new knowledge, more refined attitudes and skills can be acquired to solve the concrete problems and tasks ahead.
Knowledge
- Be aware of the modern and classical Social Science theories.
- Understand and analyze the social phenomena and social problems at the local, national and international level.
- Evaluate the society, the family, and the individual needs and link them with the related theories.
- Work in corporation with the beneficiaries in a manner to achieve the changes independency for them.
Skills
- Communicate professionally with groups and individuals.
- Manage time efficiently.
- Design a research.
- Perform the practice as an independent professional.
- Perform the evaluation with the needed incentives.
Attitude
- Accept and respect different cultures and values.
- Assess and work with people ethically regardless of their social, cultural and religious background.
