Colloquium: Developing the Tourism Industry in Palestine

The Office of the Dean of Research and the Research Council are pleased to invite you to attend the sixth colloquium in the Research and Creativity colloquia series for the 2021-2022 academic year. Dr. Omar Abed Rabo, Chairperson of Humanities Department, will present on his project titled, “Developing the Tourism Industry in Palestine: Halal Tourism and Volunteer Tourism as Case Studies.” This event will be held at 11:45 am on Thursday 25/11/ 2021 in M202.

Abstract:

This study examines the condition of tourism on the ground in Palestine, in order to develop the Palestinian tourism industry and to free it from the control of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism. The study introduces new programs (in the fields of halal tourism and voluntary tourism) that make Palestinian cities, villages, and camps the direct destinations of international tourists.

This study was funded by a grant from the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education through Bethlehem University.
