Angelic voices of the choir resounded in the twilight next to bare trees adorned with twinkling lights -- a stark contrast to her Jerusalem homeland that is torn apart in war.

Toubassi, a graduate of Bethlehem University, has been studying at Lewis University in Romeoville for the past three months through a unique partnership the universities share.

During each interview with our graduates, as an employee serving Bethlehem University as its Alumni Relations Officer, I realize anew that our graduates have a special incentive to serve, to give back to, and to do what it takes to build a great nation. People say that if you believe in dreams, they come true.  What would that mean to somebody who traveled thousands of miles from his birthplace to earn his degree at a university located in the town from which his family originally came, then traveled thousands of miles again to earn a higher degree, and then started his own business in yet another country?  Few are those who manage to realize their dreams.

Mr. Eddy Sumar, graduate of Bethlehem University class 1984, was born in Lima Peru.  He graduated from the Shuchri Ibrahim Dabdoub for Business Administration at Bethlehem University.  Then he earned his MBA from Leicester University in the UK.

On the Fifth of the April Berlanty Azzam ’11 a graduate of the Shucri Ibrahim Dabdoub Faculty of Business Administration  at Bethlehem University received Dr. Huang Chung Jack Liu Memorial Award at the annual Honors Convocation at Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. This award is presenting to the graduating International student who demonstrates service and initiative within the International student community and who works to inspire and make positive differences on the life of other students. Her selection was voted on by a special committee.

Shatha Abu Sroor '07, a graduate of Bethlehem University's Social Science department, is an example of how hard work and perseverance can over come any obstacle. Shatha is now a trainer at the Center of Development Studies at Bir Zeit University, coordinates academic research projects on country development, research that is  especially needed as Palestine continues its state building. Working with both local and international institutions, Shatha is involved with community based projects that seek to empower marginalized groups and integrate them in the development process.
