Instructional Technology Unit (ITU)

ITU Services

The instructional Technology Unit provides diverse range of services to the University community as listed below:

  • Faculty/Staff Training Sessions

Regular training sessions are offered for faculty and staff members on subjects related to utilizing technology in education and office work. Training sessions’ topics include the use of Moodle (Eclass), Google drive and Google Apps, and other topics as necessary.

  • Support

The Unit provides support to BU community including staff, faculty and students on the use of technology and media. Support includes email support, telephone support and one-on-one support.  

To streamline the support processes, the ITU utilize ticketing system that can be accessed on the University website or by simply sending an email with the issue to ituhelp@bethlehem.edu.   You can also book a one-on-one session with one of our team members by clicking here.

  • Consultancy and Advice

The ITU team are available to work with all faculty members to explore possible ways to utilize technology in their courses.  We can work with you to modify your course activities to facilitate the use of existing or new technologies.  Schulde a meeting with one of our team members using the folowing link.

  • Equipment lending

The ITU makes available a wide range of equipment to be used by the University community for academic work.  Click here for a complete list of available equipment. You can also find out more about our lending policy by clicking here.

  • Classroom Technology

The Unit equip all classrooms at Bethlehem University with various technologies and tools to be utilized in the daily teaching and learning activities.  Each classroom at the University is equipped with:

        • Computer
        • LCD Projector and screen
        • Sound system
        • Sound mixer with possibility to connect a microphone (need to reserve the mic in advance)
        • AirServe to wirelessly connect laptops, tablets, and mobile devices to the LCD Projector

  • ID card print out

We produce Id cards to Universiy students and employees. To get your ID, you can pass by Office L008.

  • Students courses

For the past few years, the ITU has been providing students from the Journalism and Computer departments with courses in producing multimedia for thier course wok and projecs.

    • CAIS001 (CAIS326 lab)

The ITU provides delivers CAIS001 to the students in the Computer and Information Systems department; a training lab course in conjunction with their Computer Graphics and Multimedia course (CAIS326). During the course, the students learn about several multimedia editing software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, and Camtasia 9.

    • JMCO001 (JMCO300 lab)

The ITU delivers JMCO001 to the Journalism students; a training lab course in conjunction with their Broadcast Journalism course (JMCO300). During the course, the students learn about audio editing software including Audacity.

    • JMCO002 (JMCO326 lab)

The ITU delivers JMCO002 to the Journalism students; a training lab course in conjunction with their Communication Technology course (JMCO326). During the course, the students learn about several multimedia editing software including Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere.
