Bethlehem University Holds Orientation Days for the Class of 2014

OrientationOn Wednesday, 18 August 2010, Bethlehem University welcomed the class of 2014 to the annual Orientation for new students.

Over 755 new students started their university career on Wednesday, 18 August 2010, and returned for a second day of orientation on Thursday. Wednesday's event started with introducing the new students to the University administration. Brother Peter Bray, Vice Chancellor, addressed the students with a reminder that success is in their hands and with hope that he'll be shaking their hands when they graduate.

The new students enjoyed two exciting days orgaqnized by the Office of Student Affairs in which they got to know the faculty and staff, learned about whom to ask if they have questions, became familiar with university history and geography, and most importantly, met their fellow students and challenged them to many games and activities.

Bethlehem University provides a space and a place where Palestinians from different areas, different backgrounds, and different religions can meet. Dina Rishmawi (BU '14): "At school you don't get to mix with people from outside your town much but during orientation I met students from Jenin, Nablus and Jerusalem and we talked about what they do and where they live. This was very exciting!"

Dina applied to Bethlehem University's Accounting program after she became familiar with the subject during a visit to the United States of America as part of AMIDEAST's Youth Exchange and Study program. "Here I have a strong accounting program and access to the world, " Dina says of Bethlehem University.
