On Wednesday, 17 April 2019, the Dean of Students Office organized the annual career day at the auditorium in which more than 35 companies and organizations participated.

Around 400 work interviews were held with senior students and graduates during the event that aimed to increase employment opportunities for Bethlehem University alumni.

After playing the Palestinian national anthem, Saher Khair, Career Guidance Coordinator at the Dean of Students Office, welcomed the audience and called on Dr. Michael Sansur, Executive Vice President, to deliver his speech.

Dr. Sansur said that Bethlehem University is a Catholic Lasallian University which believes in providing quality higher education to the Palestinian people, and in producing generations capable of contributing to the building of the Palestinian state and to the development of the Palestinian society.

Dr. Sansur said that the 25th career day has become a tradition at Bethlehem University and part of the University’s efforts to help its students achieve their goals of securing jobs after graduation. On this day, our students had the opportunity to meet representatives of different businesses in the private sector.

Rawan Juha, Marketing Communications Manager at Al-Mashreq Insurance Company, the official sponsor of this year’s career day, said that the company is particularly interested in the youth sector by providing hands-on training and employment opportunities that embrace their talents and abilities, which compel them to cope with the rapid developments in various economic and technological fields. She pointed out that this sponsorship comes within the company’s philosophy and vision through its programs of community responsibility, its interaction and its work with the youth.

Juha, a graduate of Bethlehem University in 2003, expressed her pride in being a graduate and congratulated the university as it celebrates 25 years of organizing the career day when Al-Mashreq Insurance Company celebrates 25 years of its establishment.

Mr. Adnan Ramadan, Dean of Students, thanked Al-Mashreq Insurance Company for sponsoring this day. He said that the Dean of Students Office had organized training workshops for students on CV writing especially to reflect their abilities and skills.

He said that the Dean of Students Office will develop the work on next year’s career day to enable as many companies as possible to meet with senior students and graduates.
