Instructions for Attendance during Summer


Faculty and students are to engage in distance learning options for the summer course.
Small groups of students are allowed on campus for the following purposes:

  1. To receive certificates or transcripts, to sign loan requests, fill out applications, deliver papers, after coordination with the offices or departments that the student must access.
  2. To complete practical training in laboratories that was not possible to complete during the Spring semester.
  3. Courses that may be offered for the summer virtually, but which have an applied component.
  4. Students and visitors with no official business in the University will not be admitted on campus.
  5. The names of the students who have been invited to come to campus to complete their studies should be sent to the Dean of Students in addition to the Registrar.

Considerations for ways in which Bethlehem University can help protect students, employees, and visitors from Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19).

  1. Students, faculty, and staff who have tested positive for COVID-19, or have been potentially exposed to someone with COVID-19, with or without symptoms, less than 14 days ago should abstain from coming.
  2. Anyone from towns that have been declared closed off because of the spread of infections there will not be allowed on campus.
  3. Upon entering the campus, the guard will check the temperature of each person using an infrared thermometer. Those with temperatures of 37.3 and above will not be allowed on campus. Those who know beforehand that they have a fever, no matter what the cause, should not leave their homes.
  4. Frequent hand washing with soap and water or the use of hand sanitizers are mandatory especially after dealing with others or touching surfaces or using the restrooms.
  5. Face coverings or masks and gloves, especially in laboratories, should be worn as feasible and are most essential in times when physical distancing is difficult. Individuals should be frequently reminded not to touch the face covering and to wash their hands frequently. Masks and gloves should be disposed of carefully upon leaving the campus
  6. Frequently touched surfaces should be cleaned and disinfected (e.g., door handles, sink handles, drinking fountains, grab bars, hand railings, bathroom stalls, and, laboratories) within at least daily or between use as much as possible.
  7. Use of shared objects (e.g., lab equipment, computer equipment, desks) should be limited when possible, or cleaned between use while personal objects should not be exchanged.
  8. Teachers/staff should ensure there is adequate ventilation in classrooms, offices and laboratories.
  9. Space seating/desks at least one meter apart when feasible and host smaller classes in larger rooms.
  10. Students are discouraged from visiting the teachers’ offices and any personal matter related to the student may be discussed outdoors and always wearing a mask.
