F&B-201 Module: Beverage Basics: Non-Alcoholic Beverages

Module Description & Objectives:

This module will provide the participants with practical knowledge on how to prepare basic non-alcoholic drinks from smoothies, punch, mocktails, tea and coffee.   The skills and knowledge gained will serve as a handy tool for participants to quickly and efficiently learn the basics behind Barista work.

Module Learning Outcomes:

Upon satisfactory completion of the module, the participant should be able to:

  1. Prepare smoothies, punch and mocktails (mock cocktails).
  2. Differentiate the tea types through proper cupping and tasting.
  3. Prepare standard coffee drinks.

Prior Learning/Prerequisites:

Ideally, participants must have completed a food safety & sanitation course (FSS-101)

Program Duration & Capacity:

Four (4) sessions, three (3) hours per session.  Maximum 20 participants.

Target Group:

The target group is students interested in front-of-the-house positions of a hotel, specifically as a Barista.  Each participant must come to class in the prescribed F&B Service/Bar uniform.
