Alumnus Raed Handal ('10) Returns to Bethlehem University as Faculty Member

Raed HandalThe Shucri Ibrahim Dabdoub Faculty of Business Administration at Bethlehem University is a legend of successful stories. Each year it celebrates its students with their success and hope of building new Palestine.

Bethlehem University alumnus Raed Handal ('10) is one of these successful stories of which the faculty is proud. Raed Handal is a son of a Palestinian family and has been Lasallian-educated his entire life. He began his education at The Frères School in Bethlehem, then continued his journey at Bethlehem University. Raed studied in the Shucri Ibrahim Dabdoub Faculty of Business Administration, majoring in Accounting with a minor in Business Administration.

“The best decision I made in my life,” Raed said, “[was] that I invested my time and myself in BU.” Raed graduated in July 2010 with a GPA of 3.71, which enabled him to receive a generous scholarship from Bethlehem University to continue his studies at one of the best Lasallian universities in the United States.

Raed invested himself studying and working at Lewis University in Romeoville, Illinois. And after two years of working toward his Masters degree, Raed received his Masters of Business Administration, concentrating in Accounting and Finance, with a GPA of 4.0 out of 4.0.

“Lewis University is my second home,” Raed said. “It was a very wonderful experience studying, working, and living at Lewis University.”

Raed proudly returned to Bethlehem University, this time as faculty rather than student, bringing with him the Lasallian spirit of knowledge, fidelity, wisdom, justice, and association. Thus began a challenging new journey in his life: teaching, supporting, and developing a new generation of Palestinian students.
