Biography
Ambassador Fuad Kokaly (BU'93) is a prominent Palestinian politician and diplomat, whose career demonstrates a steadfast commitment to public service and international relations. His journey began with a strong foundation at Bethlehem University, where he cultivated skills essential for his impactful roles.
Fuad Kokaly earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with a minor in Psychology from Bethlehem University in 1993. This academic background provided him with a deep understanding of societal dynamics and human behavior, which has undoubtedly informed his approach to both local governance and international diplomacy.
His career includes a significant period as the Mayor of Beit Sahour, serving from August 2000 to May 2005. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in leading his community. He also held various positions within the Palestinian National Authority, including General Director in the Ministry of Interior for the Hebron District and Deputy Governor of Bethlehem.
Fuad Kokaly is also a respected member of the Palestinian Legislative Council, a position he has held since January 2006. On the diplomatic front, he previously served as the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Romania from 2014 to 2021. More recently, in May 2025, he was appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Czech Republic, further highlighting his continued dedication to representing Palestine on the global stage.
