The Office of the Dean of Research and the Research Council organized a new colloquium on genetic diversity of figs in Palestine.

Several faculty and staff members attended the webinar which was held virtually via Google Meet on Thursday, 10 December 2020.

Dr. Omar Darissa, Associate Professor in the Biology Department, Discussed his research project titled, “Assessments of genetic diversity of fig (Ficus carica L.) in the West Bank based on Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) and Inter-Simple Sequence Repeat (ISSR) markers.”

This study was financed by a grant from the Ministry of Higher Education through Bethlehem University. 

This colloquium is the fifth in the Research and Creativity colloquia for the 2020-2021 academic year which aims to showcase faculty research, introduce its sources of funding, encourage critical and constructive exchanges about research, and provide opportunities for researchers to network and form interdisciplinary research clusters.
